             However, Straparola tells that I cried for help
           once my master was naked in the river. The king,
           who was passing by with his retinue, stopped his
           coach and aided my master. Then I told the king
           that Fortunato was robbed of his clothes and also
           of the jewels he was bringing to the king for the
           princess his daughter. The king ordered his pages
           to bring out a suit of his, and when my master
           put it on nobody could have doubted that he
           really was a rich lord. The princess found him
           irresistible, and so Fortunato became really
           fortunate, because the king gave him the hand of
           his daughter in marriage.
