The Sultan invited them to come and see his Palace.
They excused themselves, for they must first consult
their sister. The day after, they again meet him while
hunting, but they had forgotten to ask her sister. The
they forgot again. The third time, the Sultan, whose
affection was growing day by day, put three little
golden balls on the elder’s chest, so that they would

remember upon going to bed. At night the balls made
their effect; that same day the brothers spoke with their
sister. The sister consults Bulbul Hezar, who approves of
them going there, pointing out that they would do well
to invite the Sultan in their turn.
