Great difficulty, according to the Dervish, who deters
           him as much as he can, explaining the danger to him.
           He presses the Dervish so hard that the old man, giving
           him a ball, says: Since you want to do it, take this ball,
           here it is.  When you have mounted your horse, throw
           the ball in front of you. It will roll on until it reaches
           the foot of a mountain, and when it stops you too will

           stop.  You will see, climbing up,  the ground strewn with
           large lack stones, and hear a loud buzz of voices,
           without seeing anything.  They say:  Stop him, catch
           him, kill him,  do not let him go by,  chase him, etc. If
           you turn your head, you will instantly turn into a
           black stone.  If you reach the top of the mountain, you
           will find there a cage, and in the cage, the bird you are
