          seem as if the world were full of
          thunder and lightning. Never before
          had there been seen on one field so
          many noble gentlemen in the flower
          of their age, nor so many valiant and
          skilful and trusty men-at-arms. And
          if ever an army was wisely
          commanded and directed it was that
          army of the valiant King of Aragon,
          who, as soon as there was daylight
          enough for men to see one another,
          went about heartening his soldiers
          and teaching them the use of arms,
